Just how far can a Tesla Model Y go on a single charge?

This isn’t a typical, consistent Model Y range test, but instead, how many real-world miles you can expect before you’re stranded.

In real-world everyday driving, can the Tesla Model Y Performance reach or exceed its EPA-estimated range? Here we are talking about mixed driving, not a traditional consistent range test like our norm of 70 mph. Until the electric crossover leaves them stranded, this form of test should allow people to be more conscious of how much range to expect.

Over time, the official range of Tesla vehicles seems to be getting more and more complicated. This isn’t a bad thing, though. It just makes it impossible to keep up with the latest statistics. This is because Tesla uses over-the-air updates on a continuous basis to boost range and performance. Furthermore, the EPA does not always keep up with updating its website, and the EPA website can prove confusing as a source for a Tesla vehicle range when it comes to models and trims.

For instance, with an EPA range of 315 and 316 miles, the Model Y came to market. However, as both the Output and Long Range crossover come with all-wheel drive as standard, it was not clear which model had been checked. Fortunately, for each model, Tesla’s website showed the various ranges.

Later, the EPA separately rated the Long Range and gave different figures depending on wheel size for the output model. Although Tesla does not depend on conventional model years, which is part of the EPA challenge here, the projections of the 2021 Tesla Model Y range are now on the company website.

The 2021 Model Y Output gets 303 miles of range, according to Tesla and the EPA, but with the 21-inch wheels, the range comes in at 291 miles.

A few times, Ben Sullins pulled out his Model Y and raced it until it nearly died to see how far it could go. He also drove it in the past until it literally left him stranded. He was able to take it to 0 miles in the most recent test, but he still pulled safely into a Supercharger station.
