The Boring Company Vegas tunnel grand opening will feature a video game themed party

The Boring Company’s Vegas Loop doesn’t have an opening date. But when it does, CEO Elon Musk is preparing a Fallout-themed opening party for the event, launching a new age of Las Vegas tourist transportation.

On Sunday afternoon, Musk tweeted a photograph of him and his three children from the loading dock of the Vegas Loop that lies underneath Sin City. Musk stood on a modern stage, along with his three children and three Tesla Model 3s, which will eventually be the waiting area for residents of Vegas and visitors trying to travel to another part of the city in record time. Since 2019, The Boring Company has been working on the Vegas project, completing the two subterranean tunnels early last year.

In classic Musk fashion, the Vegas Loop’s grand opening will not be one to forget. Musk and The Boring Company fans had a sneak peek of what lies ahead after showing the Tunnel Rave at the Vegas Loop project in early December. However, at the Vegas Loop, the rave will not be the only unique occurrence since Musk is organizing a Fallout-themed party for the first usable runs of the tunnel.

Fallout is a video game series that lets players control characters in a series of post-apocalyptic role-playing games. Fallout, first published in 1997, is one of the most popular series of video games in recent history, Tesla included a version of the game, called Fallout Shelter, in May 2020 with its new version being released in 2018 in the 2020.20 Software Update.

It is not the first time that Musk has listed apocalyptic themes in the products of any of his companies. Musk also cited the forthcoming Cybertruck all-electric pickup as one of the most suitable vehicles in the case of world catastrophe. “We want to be a leader in apocalypse technology,” Musk told Jay Leno in an episode of MSNBC’s Jay Leno Garage.

The Cybertruck was mentioned by Musk in apocalyptic discussions on several occasions, a reference that could explain the theme of the upcoming Boring Company Vegas Loop party. While the opening of the Vegas Loop does not have a timetable, it is ready for service as both tunnels are complete. In times that have never been seen before in the public transport field, fully autonomous Tesla Model S, Model 3, and Model X vehicles can transport individuals from one point of interest to another. The Vegas Loop would already be operational if not for the COVID-19 pandemic, but social distancing steps demanded a careful and measured execution of the first public project of The Boring Company.
