With a software update, Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles will provide an upgrade to their maximum Supercharging rate from 200kW to 225kW.
The upgrade was reported along with the 2020.24.6 software update release notes. According to the notes, when plugged into the company’s V3 Superchargers Model S and Model X vehicles will charge at peak rates.
“Your car is now able to charge at V3 Superchargers at up to 225 kW peak rates. As usual, when you navigate to a Supercharger, your car will condition its battery during the drive, so it can charge faster,” the release notes stated.
This will be achieved during the drive through the latest update, which will reduce the time spent at a Supercharger.
