The limited edition Tesla Cybertruck RC deliveries from Hot Wheels may be kicking off soon. It seems that both Mattel and Tesla are determined to produce this year’s Cybertrucks.
A Cybertruck RC reservation holder, @tesla_master, recently shared photos of the Tesla pickup truck’s Hot Wheels version via Twitter. The photos show that the Cybertruck RC 1:64 scale deliveries may have already begun. The limited-edition Tesla Cybertruck RC arrived in 1:10 and 1:64 scale models.
Initially, deliveries were expected for December 2020, but were postponed to May 2021. For the 1:64 scale model, Mattel appears to have been able to accelerate delivery, but deliveries of the larger, more accurate, and premium 1:10 scale Cybertruck RC could still begin in May 2021.
Around Christmas last year, Matel asked preorder holders to re-confirm their orders. At the time, Hot Wheels seemed to be undergoing its own Elon Musk version of the “production hell,” close to when Tesla had trouble ramping up initial Model 3 production back in 2018.
The Cybertruck will be assembled in Tesla’s Texas Gigafactory, which has made impressive strides in recent months. In recent weeks, production robots, parts of the huge Giga Press machine from the Model Y, and even a Boring Company tank have been spotted at the Giga Texas site. Elon Musk stated that the Cybertruck would use even larger Cybertruck Giga Press machines.
Musk also said the design of the Cybertruck has been finalized. Tesla may start trial production for the Cybertruck by the end of 2021.
It took the world some time to get acquainted with the all-electric pickup truck’s distinctive aesthetic when Tesla eventually unveiled the Cybertruck. It did not take too long for the public, however, to warm up to the futuristic nature of the Cybertruck.
