Elon Musk’s Boring Company appears to be ramping up vehicle testing at one of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) Loop stations. By February 2021, The Boring Company appears to be adamantly planning to begin moving people around Sin City’s Convention Center complex.
A video of the vehicle testing of The Boring Company in the LVCC Loop simulates how the people mover will work until it’s operational. It gives onlookers an idea of how people on both sides of the vehicles can get in and out of Tesla cars.
There were at least 10 Tesla vehicles navigating the tunneling system based on photos and a video of LVCC Loop’s station 3.
The city has given tremendous support to The Boring Company, its LVCC Loop, and the Vegas Loop. Just last week, from February 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) board decided to pay The Boring Company up to $6.5 million to run and maintain the LVCC Loop.
The Boring Company will not charge fares for LVCC Loop trips. The LVCVA plans to generate revenue through advertising, sponsorships and facility leases for the tunnels at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Musk’s tunneling company will also work on another Sin City project named the Vegas Loop, which last month won unanimous approval from the Las Vegas City Council. The Vegas Loop would extend deeper into the city, transporting people to different destinations for entertainment and leisure. The Boring Company has recently obtained permission to expand the Vegas Loop to the Resort Corridor in the area.
