Tesla’s Elon Musk expected to speak at ultra-exclusive Sun Valley conference

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is expected to speak at the hyper-exclusive Allen & Co. Sun Valley Conference this coming Saturday. Musk will reportedly be speaking on the final day of the conference.

The annual Allen & Co. conference has garnered a reputation for being a key meeting among some of the United States’ top executives in the tech, finance, and media industries. Over the course of the conference, attendees could unwind for a few days of outdoor relaxation. Deal-making among the executives has been known to happen at the event as well.

Initial images from Sun Valley, Idaho have shown that several executives from numerous companies have already arrived at the conference. These include Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, Meta’s outgoing COO Sheryl Sandberg, billionaire investor Warren Buffett, GM CEO Mary Barra, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe, and Disney Chairman Bob Iger.

As noted in a Bloomberg report, individuals reportedly familiar with the matter who asked to remain anonymous have stated that Musk is expected to step up to the podium this Saturday. This is quite interesting, as the role is reportedly typically reserved for the likes of legendary investors such as Warren Buffett.

It remains to be seen what Musk will be discussing in his address. After all, the CEO is extremely busy with both Tesla and SpaceX, both of which are currently involved in high-profile projects. Tesla is currently ramping its vehicle production capabilities to make up for the headwinds the company faced in the second quarter, while SpaceX is hard at work preparing for Starship’s upcoming test flight.

Musk’s Twitter acquisition is also believed to be a key topic that the attendees of the Sun Valley conference may be interested in, especially since the social media company’s CEO, Parag Agrawal, is also at the event. Musk is believed to be attempting a renegotiation of Twitter’s acquisition price, which was initially set for $44 billion. Musk had expressed his reservations about the deal after he found issue with Twitter’s insistence that less than 5% of its users are bots.
