Tesla Cybertruck Sightings Indicate Production Ramping

Key Points

  • šŸš— Tesla is increasing production of the Cybertruck as evidenced by a growing number of sightings across the US and internationally.
  • šŸ›» Cybertruck sightings initially rare after its 2019 unveiling, but recent reports suggest higher production.
  • šŸŒŽ Sightings extended to New Zealand where winter testing occurred, hinting at expanded production.
  • šŸ“ˆ Around 45 units of the all-electric pickup have been spotted, possibly indicating a daily production rate of 5 or more.
  • šŸ Despite being early in the production ramp, a significant number of Cybertrucks have been seen on roads and at Tesla facilities.
  • šŸšš Reports of multiple Cybertrucks being seen indicate promising production progress.

While the precise timeline for the first customer deliveries of the Cybertruck remains undisclosed by Tesla, one aspect appears increasingly evident: the initial production of this all-electric pickup truck is undeniably gaining momentum. The growing frequency of Cybertruck sightings both within the United States and internationally suggests that Tesla is becoming more adept at manufacturing this highly anticipated vehicle.

In the aftermath of Tesla’s introduction of the Cybertruck in late 2019, sightings of this all-electric pickup truck were a rarity, to the extent that doubters questioned the feasibility of such an unconventional vehicle ever materializing. Nonetheless, Tesla has consistently reiterated its commitment to initiating Cybertruck production once Giga Texas becomes operational.

This definitely seems to be the case today. Over the past weeks, reports of Cybertruck sightings have increased by a notable degree, and in several locations too. Initially, Cybertruck sightings were only reported in the United States, but as the vehicle wasĀ winter tested in New Zealand, EV watchers later observed that around five units of the all-electric pickup truck were brought to the facility.Ā

Over in the US, Cybertruck sightings have practically become commonplace, and theĀ publicā€™s reactions to the vehicleĀ have not been disappointing at all. Things have only become a lot more exciting in recent days as not just one or two Cybertrucks have been reported online, but whole truckloads of the upcoming vehicles.Ā

Tesla watchers, such asĀ @ogre_codes, who has taken it upon himself to tally the sightings of the all-electric pickup, estimated thatĀ about 45 unitsĀ of the all-electric pickup truck had been spotted as of late. The Tesla watcher estimated that Tesla may already be producing aboutĀ five or more unitsĀ of the all-electric pickup truck per day, considering the volume of vehicles being spotted today.Ā

Of course, the Cybertruck is stillĀ far from being fully ramped. It would not be surprising if the vehicle experiences hiccups during its production ramp, either. Despite this, the growing number of Cybertrucks being spotted on public roads and around Teslaā€™s facilities across the United States is impressive. General Motors, after all, onlyĀ sold 47 GMC Hummer EV unitsĀ in the second quarter of 2023, despite the vehicle starting its deliveries starting in late 2021.Ā
