Ten years after the original Macan launch, Porsche is steering the iconic SUV into a bold new direction with its all-electric version. Jörg Kerner, VP of the Macan for Porsche, emphasizes the goal to offer the sportiest model in its segment, taking the successful SUV to new heights.

Porsche plans to introduce two configurations to the market – the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo – each offering unique performance metrics that cater to diverse driving preferences.

Premium Platform Electric with 800-Volt Architecture
The Macan EV boasts a lithium-ion battery with a gross capacity of 100 kWh and a unique 800-volt architecture. This marks Porsche’s first use of such technology in an EV. The impressive DC charging capability of 270 kW enables a rapid charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes under ideal conditions.
The innovative design also allows for efficient charging at 400-volt stations, enhancing overall charging efficiency without additional lithium-ion boosters. The regenerative braking system, capable of recuperating up to 240 kW of power, further adds to the Macan’s efficiency.
Premium Handling and Driving Dynamics
Porsche has maintained its commitment to delivering a true sports car feeling with the Macan EV. The all-wheel-drive configuration, powered by two electric motors, incorporates the Porsche Traction Management system for responsive handling. The Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus enhances traction, stability, and lateral dynamics, providing an exhilarating driving experience.
Spacious Interior and Practical Design
Designed with practicality in mind, the Macan EV offers a spacious interior with up to 18 cubic feet of capacity behind the rear-seat bench. The front trunk (frunk) provides an additional 2.9 cubic feet, surpassing the previous Macan model’s total space by 4.4 cubic feet.
High-Tech Driver Experience
The Macan EV introduces a high-tech driver experience with a 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch central display. For the first time, passengers have the option to interact with a dedicated 10.9-inch screen, offering information, infotainment control, and video streaming.
The Porsche Driver Experience features a head-up display with augmented reality technology, seamlessly integrating navigation arrows into the real world. Android Automotive OS and Apple CarPlay are part of the new-generation infotainment system, providing a comprehensive driving and entertainment experience.

Porsche plans to launch the Macan in the second half of the year, with immediate order availability. The Macan 4 is priced at $78,800, while the Turbo configuration comes in at $105,300 (excluding a $1,650 delivery, processing, and handling fee).
