With its impressive design, sports car-like performance, cutting-edge technology, and competitive pricing, the Model 3 quickly gained popularity among consumers looking to switch to electric mobility.

Although the Model 3 is relatively young in terms of its time on the road, having commenced customer deliveries in July 2017, the first significant batches of Model 3 sedans are now reaching the five-year mark. A recent Bloomberg survey of over 5,000 Model 3 owners indicates that the all-electric sedan has proven to be exceptionally reliable.

Bloomberg previously conducted an extensive study of Model 3 owners in 2019, revealing optimistic feedback from most EV owners. The follow-up survey shows that even after years of ownership, the Model 3 continues to receive high praise and satisfaction, particularly in performance, ease of use, and design.

The majority of respondents strongly agreed or agreed that the Model 3 is more reliable than their previous cars. Interestingly, the vehicle’s reliability has improved over time, with 2023 owners stating that after addressing initial defects like paint imperfections and misaligned panels, the major systems have held up very well.

Testimonials from owners further reinforce the Model 3’s reliability. One owner reported having only encountered a broken window button in 90,000 miles of driving, which was promptly repaired by Tesla at their office.

In various aspects of the all-electric sedan, including brakes and chassis, battery and drive system, electronics, climate control, interior, and exterior, the majority of respondents expressed high satisfaction with the Model 3’s reliability.

The results of the 2023 survey underscore the notion that well-made electric vehicles can offer excellent reliability and require significantly less maintenance compared to their combustion-powered counterparts. The Model 3’s outstanding performance in this survey contributes to strengthening the reputation of electric vehicles as dependable and practical alternatives for a wide range of consumers.
