Tesla to Allow Full Self-Driving (FSD) Transfer between Cars from Q3 2023

During Tesla’s Q2 2023 earnings call, the company confirmed that starting in the third quarter of this year, owners will have the option to transfer their Full Self-Driving (FSD) from one Tesla car to another.

This decision came in response to inquiries from investors about the possibility of FSD transferability. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, revealed that the FSD transferability would be a one-time opportunity available during Q3. Customers need to place an order within this period to qualify for the one-time FSD amnesty.

The move to allow FSD transfers aims to provide existing Tesla owners with more flexibility in upgrading to newer models without losing the FSD purchase. Many drivers have held back from upgrading their vehicles due to the fixed FSD pricing, which tends to increase over time.

Currently, Tesla offers Enhanced Autopilot in the United States for $6,000, providing features like Navigate on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, Autopark, Summon, and Smart Summon. Full Self-Driving, priced at $15,000, includes all the functionality of Basic Autopilot and Enhanced Autopilot, along with Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control.

Additionally, Tesla offers FSD as a monthly subscription service. Subscribers can access Basic Autopilot to FSD capability for $199.00 per month, while Enhanced Autopilot to FSD capability is available at $99.00 per month.
