Update: 12:23pm EST: Tesla Cybertruck pricing was not leaked, but instead the screen shown in the Tweet was previous pricing with old Full Self-Driving suite pricing.
The Tesla Cybertruck tri-motor’s price has been found on a reservation holder’s Tesla account.
While countless customers have been waiting patiently for their upcoming Tesla Cybertruck, knowing the truck’s impressive charging, power output, and feature set, its price has yet to be known even years after the reveal. Now one reservation holder found the price readily available on his Tesla reservation page.
According to a picture and video posted by Mr. Adam Varney, the upcoming Tesla Cybertruck tri-motor will be available for $76,900.
Shortly after posting the initial picture showing the previously unknown price of the vehicle, many believed Mr. Varney was lying or attempting to mislead the Facebook page where he initially posted it. However, doubts were quickly challenged via a video Mr. Varney posted showing the same price and reservation code.
Neither Tesla nor Elon Musk has confirmed the pricing of the Cybertruck tri-motor, though it was initially set to be available for a slightly lower price; $69,990.
When contacted by Teslarati, Mr. Varney says the page has been updated, and the price is no longer available. However, the fact that his reservation number seems to match each video and picture he sent lends some credibility to his story. And while the price increase from 2019 is undoubtedly disappointing, there is no doubt that it matches the massive amount of inflation that has occurred since the truck’s announcement.
In reaction to the released price, many have posted either sad or angry responses, hoping that the price of the truck was lower, but for such a high performance and large truck, Tesla is not far from the industry average; just ask a Ford Raptor buyer.
As the Cybertruck is slated for production start in q1 this year, and mass production is slated for EoY, we may be closer than ever to receiving more information and seeing the Tesla Cybertruck hit the public roads. And while many are disappointed about the price increase, you can count me as excited that the truck is coming to fruition at all.
