Tesla has fulfilled its commitment to introduce the Midnight Cherry Red color to the Middle East, as it had previously announced earlier this year.
The distinctive Midnight Cherry Red hue, produced at Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin, has now made its debut in the United Arab Emirates on the Model Y vehicles.
In the previous year, Tesla embarked on the development, testing, and production of new colors for the first time in a while. Alongside Midnight Cherry Red, the Quicksilver color was also introduced, with production exclusively taking place at Gigafactory Berlin, home to Tesla’s advanced paint shop.
“Only Giga Berlin can create these colors,” noted CEO Elon Musk upon their unveiling, highlighting the intricate process enabled by the specialized paint shop’s capability to apply multiple intricate layers of paint.
Originally available only on the Model Y Performance variant, the Midnight Cherry Red shade has expanded its availability to other configurations of the all-electric crossover. Moreover, it has transcended its initial release in mainland Europe and reached new regions.
This week, the captivating color made its way to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, marking another step in Tesla’s global color palette expansion.

Tesla confirmed in May that the color would finally land in the Middle East sometime in 2023. Now that the Midnight Cherry Red Model Y has made its way to showrooms in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, it seems the launch could spread to other areas around the region as the year goes on.
